How to do a few cool things.....

...without knowing much about Javascript? Well, you can visit several good sites for some free codes, which you just insert into your HTML document and...voila! You have some cool stuff on your web page. Good places for free codes are: Dynamic Drive or the Javascript Source.

Here are a few pages where I've recently played with codes ....

A mouse trailer of blue balls. It's sometimes fun, and sometimes annoying. You certainly don't want it on every page of your site.

A bursting star background. Rather delicate, not too obtrusive. Could be used once in a while.

Falling snowflakes. This is great for those winter photos you wanted to display.

Falling hearts - Valentine Day photos or love letters can be adorned with these.

Sliding banner of several small photos. They need the be the same size (height) to look good, so adjust the size in Photoshop first.

A photo pop up when you slide the mouse over a link to a page. Sometimes people don't really know whether they want to go to a page or not. This is a way to give them a peek of what's inside.

A drop down menu. This is pretty easy when you only want one drop down menu on the page, but gets pretty complicated when you want more.

A drop down menu bar. This gets slightly more complicated, but it's a great way to show many links.

Places also exist where you can get some special banners made for you. I especially like Flaming Text where you can get all kinds of banners, not just flaming ones. Have a look at some of  the examples I've used.

Another place to get some flashy buttons made is Flash buttons. You can  get all kinds of designs there.
